Shooting with the Girls!

So Jennifer and Becca wanted to go shooting while they were here!  They both shot my 10/22, 308, and 12 gauge shotgun!  Jennifer also shot my bow.  I know I had a great time and they seemed to really enjoy it!
Here is Jennifer with the 10/22

And this is Becca with the 10/22

Jennifer with the 308

And I couldn't pass up the chance to plink a couple cans with one of my favorite guns!

Here is Jennifer with the 12 gauge shotgun!

This is Becca shooting the 12 gauge!  Big gun and a little girl but she liked it!

My turn!

Jennifer with my bow!

And the result of Jennifer shooting the bow.... Tim (dad) and Becca on an arrow hunt!  Jennifer could shoot my bow but the sights were not adjusted for her.  She did a great job though!

And here is the Photographer for this event taking time to play with us!  Dave was kind enough to take pictures to document this day.  The girls first time shooting!

At the end of our shooting adventure Becca decided to try to shoot the 308.  She liked it!

And finally we got Tim to shoot the shotgun!  Was a wonderful time!

Learning how to reppel!

Dave(also works for MDT but out of Helena) came to Billings and taught Paul(works for MDT in Billings) and I how to rappel!  It was so much fun!  I think Paul and I were both uneasy at first but that went away fast!  Once you are all tied up it is amazing looking down!  I loved it!

This was so much fun!  I can't wait to do it again!

Here is Paul dangling from a rope on the side of the rims!  I think he is hooked too!

And here is Dave demonstrating how well a prusik knot holds.  Well maybe he is just showing off, I'm not sure, but it was a pretty good demonstration of how well he trusts his ropes and knots!

4th of July! Fishing!

On the 4th of July we tried to hike into Kersey Lake.  We got carried back to the trail head by the swarms of mosquitos. We fished a little and had a snack.  No bites other than bug bites but we had a good time!

Evening of July 3rd!

The evening of July 3rd we were joined by some friends from Helena.  We had dinner and did smores at the fire pit!

July 3rd!

The kids and I started the day out painting rocks and playing in the creek.  We also took a short hike up to Bridal falls!

July 2nd Cooke City

The kids and I went to Cooke City for the weekend.  I bought some water toys at the dollar store and we took them along.  The first thing we did was play with them at the creek!

Frog hunting at Two Moon Park!

The kids and I decided to make sandwiches for dinner and take them to Two Moon Park to eat and go find frogs!

After we ate our sandwiches we started walking on the Weeping Wall trail.  We got about a 1/4 of a mile and decided we needed bug spray so we turned around and went to the store.  We came back after a healthy dose of bug spray and walked about 2 miles.  We found some frogs and some bugs and listened to the wind blow through the grass.  There were a lot of birds and a lot of mosquitos.  Sometimes we couldn't tell if it was a bird or a mosquito flying by, they seemed to be similar in size!

After the storm

After the storm I had two broken skylights, some broken siding, and a lot of mud.  The insurance adjuster still has not made it to look at the house but so far most of the neighborhood is needing new roofs.  Here are some pictures of the yard after the water was gone.
